Bread for the World
Bread
for the World Sunday will soon be here. Now is
the time to make plans for your church to take

18—or another Sunday in the fall. This is
an opportunity for your congregation or faith
community to renew its commitment to end hunger
in God’s world.FREE resources and ideas

Sunday are available online at
www.bread.org/sunday. If you haven’t
already ordered or downloaded your resources,
please
order them today. They are available in
English and Spanish.
- Reflection Resource
- Included in every order is a reflection on
Mark 10:35-45, written by Rev. John
Buchanan, editor and publisher of The
Christian Century. Also included are a new
song by Marty Haugen, litany, call to
worship, and prayers.

- Offering Envelopes

Here is what others have done to celebrate Bread for the World Sunday:
“We prayed as a group
for world hunger to be addressed. Our
pastor had a sermon on hunger and poverty and
what Christians are required to do to eradicate
it. We also took up a special offering for the
hungry in our community.”
“We used your resources
for the Sunday morning worship service, prepared
a minute for mission, and gave out your
envelopes for members to take home and pray
about a contribution.”
Participating in Bread
for the World Sunday is one way your
congregation can make a difference. I hope
you will join us.
